Powdery Mildew Remedy

Powdery mildew is caused by the fungus.

Powdery mildew causes a grey-colored powdery growth to appear on both the upper and lower surface of the plant’s leaves.

The disease appears in the form of whitish patches on both the sides of leaves. These patches gradually grow in size covering a maximum part of the lamina which gives whitish green appearance. When the attack is severe, withering and shedding of leaves take place; patches also appear on shoots near the base which turns black. Affected blossoms fail to set in fruit. Young berries drop when affected in the early stage of their growth. They crack when affected in the advanced stage.

This disease commonly seen in December and January when weather is cool and humid condition.

The disease normally occurs between November and January. The spores are carried by wind from a diseased to a healthy crop which provides the source of infection.

Powdery Mildew (Bhuri) can be controlled by using the following solutions:

Solution 1:

Ingredients
  • 250 Grams Turmeric Tubers
  • 100 Liter Water
Preparation
  • Take 250 gms Turmeric tubers.
  • Make Chatni using Mixer Grinder (sil-batta.)
  • Put it in a vessel with 100 Liters of water.
  • Keep it overnight.
  • In the morning, filter the solution and spray it.
  • Do not mix water while spraying.

Solution 2:

Ingredients
  • 1 Kg Gulvel (Amruthaballi /Giloy)
  • 3 Liter Cow Urine
  • 10 Liter Water
Preparation
  • Take 1 Kg pieces of sticks of Gulvel (Giloy /Amruthaballi).
  • Put these pieces in 10 Liters of water and keep it to boil.
  • Boil the solution on low heat till the quantity halves.
  • After the solution cools down mix it with 200 liters of water.
  • Take 3 Liters Desi Cow urine (Gaumutra) and mix it in the solution. Mix the solution thoroughly.
  • Filter the solution and spray it on the plants / trees.

Solution 3:

Ingredients
  • 2 Kg Papaya Leaves
  • 3 Liter Desi Cow Urine
  • 200 Liter Water
Preparations
  • Take 2 Kg Leaves of Papaya.
  • Make Chatni of the leaves using Mixer Grindersil-batta.
  • Put the chatni in 200 liters of water.
  • Take 3 Liters Desi Cow urine (gaumutra) and mix it in the solution.
  • Mix the solution thoroughly.
  • Filter the solution and spray it on the plants / trees.

Solution 4:

Ingredients
  • 200 Gms Baje/Sweet Flag
  • 3 Liter Desi Cow Urine
  • 200 Liter Water
Preparation
  • Take 200 Gms (Baje) (Vekhand) (Sweet Flag / Calamus) powder.
  • Mix it with 3 liters of desi Cow urine (gaumutra).
  • Mix it thoroughly.
  • Cover the vessel.
  • Keep the vessel covered for 24 hours.
  • After 24 hours filter the solution.
  • Mix it with 200 Liters of water.
Usage:

Spray the solution. 200 liters solution can be used for 1 acre land.
